Sammy.....

If you know me, you know about Sammy. Our almost 10 lb furry child. A runt that wasn't expected to live, and was never intended for us, he stole our hearts from the moment I brought him home from Ocilla, GA. Sammy has been our child for the past 6 years, he will always be our first born. To him I am Mommy and Brad is Daddy. I know people think we are crazy when we refer to him as our child, but we love him just that much and with a new baby on the way I am just as much worried about him as I am Lily. I hope he doesn't think we have tried to replace him and I don't want him to think we are pushing him to the side. We talk about Lily with Sammy on a daily basis, hoping he will get used to us saying her name. Brad directs Sammy to my belly and belly button and Sammy will stare at it with his head cocked to the side and his cold little nose pointed straight into my belly button while Brad tells him his baby sister is in there. Call me silly, but I am more worried about Sammy being alone while we are in the hospital than I am about actually going to the hospital. His Nanny Hilda has assured me she will take care of Sammy and even come sleep at our house so he can sleep in our bed and not break his normal routine. Thank goodness for grandparents! LOL....Anyway, heres hoping all three of us, furry child included, can adjust to having a new little person in our lives. We are so excited and cannot wait to see Lily and bring her home, and I hope Sammy feels the same way!

The Cankles....

So it seems one of the dreaded side effects of pregnancy has come to visit me, swelling of the ankles. My ankles, or cankles as I usually refer to them, are a mess anyway with an injury that almost broke both of them a couple of years ago. This injury involved margaritas, dancing and a Nelly song and resulted in an emergency room visit, crutches and horribly swollen ankles, ask no more. Anyway, my ankles and feet have started swelling to no end! Not to mention the horrible indigestion I am dealing with. I cannot WAIT to go to the doctor next Monday so I can ask for some relief from this indigestion, gah! Good news is the nursery is now PAINTED!!!! YAY!!! At long last! The decal with Lily's name on it has been ordered and will arrive shortly! I can't wait to post pics! I am also very anxiously awaiting the birth of Ryker Guess, the baby that is floating around in my BFF Siobhan's belly! So for now that is all...til next time!

Tiredness....

My first trimester of pregnancy found me so tired I could barely make it home from work before I passed out on the couch. I have started to feel tired all over again after a short break, which freaks me out. We have so much to do before Lily's arrival and all I can imagine is how huge and sweaty I am going to be the last few months of my pregnancy. Another unwelcomed visitor that has started visiting me again every morning is morning sickness. Ugh. My normal routine is wake up, lay there, hope it will go away on its own (which it never does), gag, make a mad dash for the bathroom, gag some more, then its over. Not so bad, but oh the feeling that accompanies it up til the point it passes is just awful. Thankfully, it passes rather quickly and its just in the morning. I can tough it out til July. Lily's room is thankfully starting to come together, painting has been almost completed and we have pretty much everything we need to have a complete nursery with the exception of a few things that will hopefully come from loved ones at various showers. So thats all for now, hopefully I will have pics of Lily's room after this weekend to post! Woo hoo!
